一、Case background

 

 

The transfer of high temperature molten steel by casting crane is a very important production link for domestic well-known large-scale iron and steel metallurgical enterprises. In order to ensure the transportation safety of high temperature molten steel and ensure 24-hour uninterrupted production, the steel plant introduced mh-scada system to strengthen the safe operation of casting crane and reduce the maintenance time and spare parts cost of casting crane.

二、Case analysis

There are six large tonnage casting cranes in one workshop, three of which are used to add molten iron from blast furnace into steel-making furnace, and the other three are used to inject molten steel into caster to produce usable steel. Each crane uses a set of mh-plc 300s series PLC to control the theromat pressure regulating and speed regulating device and mvCan inverter to drive the operation of each motor, so that the crane can move, lift and put down the ladle in the space and complete the action of dumping molten steel. PROFIBUS DP protocol is used to communicate with inverter in each group of PLC.

Each crane is equipped with a local monitoring terminal, which is used to monitor the running state of the crane, and help the crane maintenance personnel quickly check the abnormal state of the crane, and carry out daily maintenance and inspection work on the crane. In the central control room, there is a terminal that can view the status of more than 2000 I / O points of all six cranes and overview the operation of all cranes.


 

 

The status of crane equipment changes rapidly. In order to ensure the safe operation of the crane, the whole system must collect the information of the crane at a high speed to ensure that a critical moment will not be missed. The unique high-speed acquisition driver of mh-scada meets this requirement. On all six cranes, mh-scada continuously collects PLC real-time data within 100ms, and converts these information into millisecond level trend curve, so that the on-site maintenance personnel can accurately grasp the crane operation information, so as to accurately find the fault or hidden trouble.

In order to improve the operation efficiency of the crane and reduce the maintenance time, the system makes full use of the alarm management function of mh-scada, counts and analyzes all the alarms during the operation, finds out the alarms with the highest probability, helps the maintenance personnel to eliminate the fault in time, and shortens the downtime. This alone greatly improves the efficiency of the whole production process.

Mh-scada stores the detailed data of crane equipment operation into the database, which is convenient for the maintenance personnel to grasp the actual operation life of the crane, such as which parts bear a larger load, which parts run for a longer time, and which parts are prone to aging or failure. Based on this information, equipment managers can make more reasonable and effective spare parts and parts replacement plan, reduce spare parts inventory and improve spare parts efficiency.

Mh-scada uses the security mechanism of windows system to construct a reasonable authority allocation. Users with different permissions can operate differently. This allocation method effectively ensures the security of field data and records, and also ensures the effectiveness of operation data. Mh-scada has set a higher security authority for PLC programming program, on the one hand, it is convenient for field engineers to analyze and test the system combined with PLC program, on the other hand, it is also convenient to ensure that the PLC operation program is not easy to be modified, so as to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.



三、User benefits

Mh-scada system successfully controls the fault operation and maintenance time of the crane within a reasonable range, improves the average fault free operation time of the crane, reduces the loss caused by the decline of production efficiency due to the unexpected shutdown of the equipment, improves the safety of the crane lifting high temperature molten steel, and ensures the life safety of the site staff.
By using the equipment information recording function designed by mh-scada, the steel plant has worked out a more reasonable spare parts inventory and use plan, reduced their capital investment in this area, and successfully saved a lot of equipment maintenance costs.
